PDFLight is a free tool provided as-is. These terms are short because the service is simple: there is no account, no payment, and no file of yours on our side.

1. What the service is

PDFLight is a PDF editor that runs in your web browser. All processing happens on your own device. We provide the application; we do not provide storage, processing or any form of document handling on our side, because your documents never reach us.

2. Using the service

You may use PDFLight for personal or commercial purposes, free of charge, with no registration and no volume limit beyond what your own browser can handle.

You agree not to:

  • use it to process documents you have no right to process;
  • attempt to interfere with the site, or to use it to distribute malware;
  • scrape or automate the site in a way that degrades it for other people, or re-publish it as your own service.

Since everything runs locally, we have no technical means of monitoring how you use the editor — and no wish to. These rules bind you as a matter of contract, not of enforcement.

3. Your documents remain yours

We claim no rights whatsoever over the files you open. We cannot: they are never transmitted to us. Anything the application stores locally (the recent-documents history) stays in your browser, under your control, and can be deleted at any time from the History panel. 4. No warranty

PDFLight is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that it is free of defects, that it will handle every PDF ever produced, or that it will remain available.

In particular: keep a copy of your original file. Editing a document produces a new one, and while the application is built to be non-destructive, no software is faultless. Verify the result before you discard the original, especially for documents that matter.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data, loss of profit or other damage arising from your use of the service. This limitation does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — and if you are a consumer in the European Union, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here.

6. Advertising

The service is funded by advertising displayed on the home page and on the content pages — never inside the editor. Ads are served by Google AdSense; we do not control which advertisements appear and their presence is not an endorsement. See section 4 of the privacy policy for how advertising cookies are handled.

7. Third-party rights

PDFLight is built on open-source software, including pdf.js and pdf-lib, used under their respective licences. PDF is an open ISO standard (ISO 32000). Trademarks mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners; references to other PDF services are descriptive and imply no affiliation.

8. Changes

These terms may change. The "Last updated" date above will change with them, and continued use after a change means you accept the new version.
